SUBJ::CT: TENDER NW90-25, TWO (2) ONLY CREW CABS
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. That Report TR-83-90 be received;
2. That Roy Nichols Motors Ltd., Bowmanville, Ontario,
with a total bid of $42,873.84, being the lowest
responsible bidder meeting all terms, conditions and
specifications of Tender NW90-25, be awarded the
contract to supply and deliver two (2) only Crew Cab to
the Town of Newcastle as required by the Departments of
Community Services and Public Works;
3. That the funds in the amount of $21,000.00 be drawn
from the approved 1990 Community Services Department
Capital budget, Account #7603-00001-0504;
4. That funds in the amount of $357.00 be drawn from
the approved 1990 Community Services Department Capital
budget, Account #7603-00001-0505; and
5. That funds in the amount of $21,516.84 be drawn from
the approved 1990 Public Works Department Capital
budget, Account #2900-00010-0000.

BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
A tender was publicly advertised and invited for the supply and
delivery of two (2) only Crew Cabs, as required by the
Departments of Community Services and Public Works.
Subsequently, tenders were received and tabulated as follows:

Funding for the total bid price of $42,873.84 is provided as
follows:
Community Services
Funds in the amount of $21,000.00 are provided for in the 1990
Community Services Department Capital budget, Account
#7603-00001-0504 as reflected on page 172, item #14. Additional
funds in the amount of $357.00 may be provided from Account
#7603-00001-0505 from which there are adequate funds available.
Public Works
Funds in the amount of $21,516.84 are provided for in the 1990
Public Works Department Capital budget, Account #2900-00010-0000
as reflected on page 45, item #1.
The Treasurer has reviewed the funding requirements and concurs
with the recommendation. Queries with respect to department
needs, specifications, etc., should be referred to the Directors
of Community Services and Public Works. After review and
analysis of the bids by Purchasing, Community Services and Public
Works it was mutually agreed that the low bid from Roy Nichols
Motors, Bowmanville, Ontario, be recommended for the tender
award.
