RENOVATIONS
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:

1. That Report TR-72-90 be received;
2. That Gerr Construction Limited, Bowmanville, Ontario,
with a bid in the amount of $26,675.00 being the most
responsible bidder meeting all terms, conditions and
specifications of Tender NW90-27, be awarded the
contract for the Municipal Administrative Centre
Renovations, as required by the Department of Community
Services; and
3. That funds in the amount of 21,000.00 be drawn from the
approved 1990 Capital budget Account #7020-00000-0501;
4. That funds in the amount of 5,675.00 be drawn from the
approved 1990 Capital budget Account #7028-00000-0501.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
Tenders were publicly advertised in all four area newspapers.

Adequate funding for this project was provided for in the 1990
Capital budget and will be drawn from the following accounts:

The Treasurer has reviewed the funding requirements and concurs
with the recommendation. Queries with respect to department
needs, specifications, etc., should be referred to the Director.

After further review and analysis of the bids by Purchasing and
Community Services, it was mutually agreed that the bid from Gerr
Construction, Bowmanville, Ontario, be recommended for the tender
award. The subject firm have previously provided satisfactory
service for the Town of Newcastle.
