That Report TR-54-90 be received; 2. That Tri-Son Contracting, Prince Albert, Ontario, with a total bid of $11,820.00 for Part "A" (Mearns Avenue) and $ 9,750.00 for Part "B" (Fox Hunt), being the lowest responsible bidder meeting all terms, conditions and specifications of Tender NW90-21, be awarded the contract for construction of Hot Mix Asphalt Walkways, as required by the Department of Community Services; and 3. That the total funds required in the amount of $21,570.00 be drawn from the approved Community Services Capital Budget Account #7603-00001-0516 (Capital Budget pages 186 and 183). BACKGROUND AND COMMENT: A tender was publicly advertised in the four (4) area papers and invited for the construction of a Hot Mix Asphalt Walkway at both Mearns Avenue and Fox Hunt Parks, as required by the Department of Community Services. 71 Page - 2 - TR-54-90 TENDER NW90-21, HOT MIX ASPHALT - WALKWAYS Subsequently, tenders were received and tabulated as follows: Tri-Son Contracting Prince Albert, ON $11,820.00 Total Bid Part "B" (Fox Hunt) $ 9,750.00 Bidder Total Bid Part "A" (Mearns Ave) Mackie & Reid Paving Orono, ON $11,940.00 $ 9,950.00 Bennett Paving & Materials Oshawa, ON $14,100.00 $11,300.00 Harnden & King Construction $22,500.00 Brooklin, ON $19,750.00 The total funds required in the amount of $21,570.00 will be drawn from the Community Services Capital budget Account #7603-00001-0516 and are well within the total budget allocation of $27,000.00 ($16,000.00 Mearns Avenue plus $11,000.00 Fox Hunt) as reflected on pages 186 and 183 respectively, of the 1990 Capital budget. The Treasurer has reviewed the funding requirements and concurs with the recommendation. Queries with respect to department needs, specifications, etc., should be referred to the Director of Community Services. After review and analysis of the bids by both Purchasing and Community Services, it was mutually agreed that the low bid from Tri-Son Contracting, Prince Albert, Ontario, be recommended for the tender award for the construction of Hot Mix Asphalt Walkways, as required by the Department of Community Services.
