That report TR-34-90 be received; 2. That Ontario Motor Sales, Oshawa, Ontario, with a total bid of $27,333.72, being the lowest responsible bidder meeting all terms, conditions and specifications of Tender NW90-9, be awarded the contract forthwith, to supply and deliver two (2) only Compact Pick Up Trucks, to the Town of Newcastle as required by the Departments of Planning and Public Works; 3. That funds in the amount of $13,832.64 be drawn from the approved 1990 Planning Department Capital budget, Animal Control Account #7105-00000-0504; and 4. That funds in the amount of $13,501.08 be drawn from the approved 1990 Public Works Department Capital Budget account #2900-00010-0000. BACKGROUND & COMMENTS A tender was publicly advertised and invited for the supply and delivery of two (2) only Compact Pick Up Trucks, as required by the Departments of Planning and Public Works. Subsequently, Tenders were received and tabulated as follows: Bidder Total Bid Amount Ontario Motor Sales Oshawa, Ontario $27,333.72 732 Page - 2 - TR-34-90 TENDER NW90-9, TWO (2) ONLY COMPACT PICK UP TRUCKS Bidder Total Bid Amount Roy Nichols Motors Bowmanville, Ontario $27,476.28 J.E. Quantrill Chev Olds Cobourg, Ontario $29,258.28 MacIntosh Chys-Plym. Ltd. Oshawa, Ontario $29,575.80 The total bid price of $27,333.72 is well within the $33,500.00 provided for in the 1990 Planning Department's Capital Budget Account #7105-00000- 0504, ($17,000) and the 1990 Public Works Capital Budget Account #2900- 00010-0000 ($16,500.00) as reflected on page 283, item #1, and page 44 item #8, respectively of the Capital Budget. A forthwith approval is requested in order to accomodate the manufacturers cut off date of May 7, 1990 for ordering 1990 vehicles. The Treasurer has reviewed the funding requirements and concurs with the recommendation. Queries with respect to department needs, specifications, etc. should be referred to the Directors of Planning and Public Works. After review and analysis of the bids by Purchasing, Planning and Public Works it was mutually agreed that the low bid from Ontario Motor Sales, Oshawa, Ontario, be recommended for the tender award.
