FIRE DEPARTMENT PUMPER RECOMMENDATIONS: It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee recommend to Council the following: 1. That Report TR-30-90 be received; 2. That Superior Emergency Equipment Limited, Red Deer, Alberta, with a total bid in the amount of $197,750.00, being the lowest responsible bidder meeting all terms, conditions and specifications of Tender No. NW 90-8, be awarded the contract for the supply and delivery of a 1990 Triple Combination 1050 I.G.P.M. Pumper, as required by the Fire Department; and 3. That funds in amount of $197,750.00 be drawn from the approved 1990 Fire Department Capital Budget Account #7102-00001-0520. BACKGROUND AND COMMENT: A tender was publicly advertised and invited for the supply and 7 ! Page - 2 - TR-30-90 TENDER NO. NW 90-8, TRIPLE COMBINATION 1050 I.G.P.M. FIRE DEPARTMENT PUMPER. delivery of a 1990 Triple Combination 1050 I.G.P.M. Pumper, as required by the Fire Department. Tenders were received and tabulated as follows: Bidder Bid Amount Delivery Superior Emergency Equipment Limited $197,750.00 120 Days Red Deer, Alberta Almonte Fire Trucks Ltd. $209,950.00 220 Days Almonte, Ontario Dependable Emergency Vehicles $213,738.65 210 Days Brampton, Ontario The low bidder, Superior Emergency Equipment supplied the Triple Combination Pumper ordered by the Town of Newcastle in 1985, and 1987 and they have proven to be a reliable vehicle of exceptional quality and workmanship. The total funds required in amount of $197,750.00 are well within the $250,000.00 approved in the 1990 Fire Department Capital Budget Account #7102-00001-0520, which is reflected on page 94 of the 1990 Capital Budget. The Treasurer has reviewed the funding requirements and concurs with the recommendation. Queries with respect to department needs, specifications, etc., should be referred to the Fire Chief. After further review and analysis of the bids by the Fire Department and Purchasing, it was mutually agreed that the low bidder, Superior Emergency Equipment Limited, Red Deer, Alberta, be recommended for the contract award for the supply and delivery 704 Page - 3 - TR-30-90 TENDER NO.
