2.2 The second annual Junior Firefighter Program was another great success. The
program offered 11 and 12 year old children the opportunity to learn about fire
safety and fire prevention. It also gave children a glimpse of the role of a
firefighter and their significance in the community.
2.3 Due to the large number of applications received, we are endeavouring to obtain
some funding from one of the local service clubs. We are seeking to double the
size of the program from 80 children to 160 in 1997.
