1. ADOPTION OF MINUTES
Moved by Corine Goodwin, seconded by Elaine Simpson
THAT the minutes of the meetings held on November 4, 2009 be approved.

2. BUSINESS ARISING FROM MINUTES OF LAST MEETING
a) Customer Service Standard Training
The Municipal Clerk advised that training related to the Customer Service
Standard is ongoing. The Municipality has approximately 100 e-learning
modules which will be used to train new staff throughout the year.
Municipal trainers will be completing the training of the Community
Services part-time staff. The Committee was advised that training for
members of our Boards, Committees and Council is scheduled for next
week.
b) Accessibility Challenge
Clarington Central has advised that they are concerned with the possibility
of many of their students not attending for the challenge and questioned
whether the Committee wishes to proceed. It was agreed that, even if
only a few students participate, it is an opportunity for the Committee to
hone the program and learn from the experience. Patti Barrie will contact
the teacher, advise that we wish to proceed and invite him to attend the
next meeting to discuss the challenge.

c) Plan Review Checklist
The City of Oshawa checklist, together with their adopted standards, was
circulated. The Site Plan Review Committee will use the standards as a
foundation for our reviews.
d) Highway 407
The Highway 407 design was reviewed for information.
e) Community Advantage Rehabilitation Inc. – “Deaf Child” Sign
Moved by Keith Brettell, seconded by Corine Goodwin
THAT the correspondence from Community Advantage Rehabilitation Inc.
requesting the installation of a “Deaf Child” sign on Prout Drive be referred
to the Association for Community Living and the Clarington Traffic
Advisory Committee for comment and report back.

4. NEW BUSINESS
a) Correspondence from Dwayne and Barb Glaspell – Accessibility Concerns
Correspondence from Dwayne and Barb Glaspell outlining concerns with
accessibility and questioning the makeup of the Accessibility Committee,
together with staff’s response, was received for information. Mr. and Mrs.
Glaspell will be encouraged to bring any further concerns to the
Committee’s attention.
5. OTHER BUSINESS
a) The Committee was advised that the work on the curb cuts at the
intersection of Baseline Road and Spry Avenue has commenced.
6. DATE OF NEXT MEETING
The next meeting will be held on January 6, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. in Committee
Room 1A.
