PUBLIC MEETINGS (a) Town of Newcastle Waterfront Study - The Lake Ontario Waterfront has been identified as an issue of specific importance in the Review of the Town of Newcastle Official Plan. In this regard, a study of the entire Lake Ontario Waterfront in the Town of Newcastle from Darlington Provincial Park to the Township of Hope boundary is now underway. This Waterfront Study is intended to build upon the work of the Bowmanville Waterfront Study by providing Newcastle Council with a long-term plan for the preservation, enhancement and development of the entire Lake ontario Waterfront in the Town. NEWCASTLE WATERFRONT STUDY - REPORT PD-204-92 301 (b) Proposed Zoning By-law Amendment to change the zone category of a 26.3 hectare parcel of land located in Part Lot 16, Concession 1, former Township of Darlington from "Agricultural (A)" to an appropriate zone or zones in order to permit the development of 120 single family detached dwelling units, 102 semi detached dwelling unts, 82 street townhouse units, 100 block townhouse units, a 218 unit apartment, a school block, a park block and a commercial block. Proposed Official Plan Amendment to permit a redefinition of the western boundary of the urban area, an alteration to the road network by the extension of Green Road to Baseline Road, an increase to the neighbourhood population target, the addition of two medium density symbols, the addition of one high density symbol and finally the addition of a Local Central Area symbol.
