(a) Proposed Zoning By-law Amendment to change the zone category of a
37.132 hectare parcel of land located in part of Lots 28, 29, 30 and 31,
Broken Front Concession, in the former Village of Newcastle from in part
Agricultural (A), in part Holding-Urban Residential Type Three-Special
Exception ((H)R3-4), in part Holding-Urban Residential Type Four-Special
Exception. ((H)R4-5), in part Holding-Special Purpose Commercial-Special
Exception ((H)CS-6), in part Holding-Environmental Protection-Special
Exception ((H)EP-1) and in part Environmental Protection (EP) in order to
permit a plan of subdivision consisting of 46 single detached units,
160 semi-detached units, a 60 unit multiple residential block and a
multi-use block which will consist of 56 residential units, 2000 square
metres of retail floorspace and 500 square metres of office space. The
plan of subdivision would also create two future use blocks which the
applicant intends to develop as a golf course. The golf course requires
an amendment to the Clarington Official Plan and would be subject to
future Public Meetings.

~ (b) Proposed Zoning By-law Amendment to change the zone category of an
89 hectare parcel of land located in Part Lots 1, 2 and 3, Broken Front
Concession, former Township of Darlington and Part Lots 33, 34 and 35,
Broken Front Concession, former Township of Clarke from "Urban Residential
Type Two Exception (R2-16)" to the appropriate zone(s) in order to permit
the development of single and semi detached dwellings east of the C.N. Railway
Overpass (Phases 1 to 5) and single and semi detached dwellings, townhouses,
clusters, apartments, a retirement home and/or a nursing home west of the C.N.
Railway Overpass (Phase 6). A retirement and/or nursing home would have
associated health related facilities and the retirement home may also include
ancillary uses such as a beauty salon, barber shop and tuck shop.
