Subject: MONITORING OF THE DECISIONS OF THE COMMITTEE OF
ADJUSTMENT FOR THE MEETING OF JUNE 18, 1998
FILES: A98/026 TO A98/029, INCLUSIVE
Recommendations:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee
recommend to Council the following:
1. THAT Report PD-85-98 be received ;
2. THAT Council concur with decisions of the Committee of Adjustment made on May
28, 1998 for applications A98/026 to A98/029, inclusive; and
3. THAT Staff be authorized to appear before the Ontario Municipal Board to defend
the decision of the Committee of Adjustment for applications A98/026 to A98/029
inclusive, in the event of an appeal.
1. APPLICATION DETAILS
1.1 In accordance with Section 45 of the Planning Ad, R.S.O. 1990, all applications
received by the Municipality for minor variance are scheduled to be heard within
30 days of being received by the Secretary Treasurer. The decisions of the
Committee are detailed below.
1.2 Applications A98/026 and A98/027 were approved as applied for.
1.3 Applications A98/028 and A98/029 were heard together as they will recognize the
creation of two equal area parcels being created through a land division application

LD98/135. The applicant stated the entire 78.4 ha (193.7 ac) parcel has been
surveyed and the area of each half was calculated by the surveyor at 39.2 ha. These
applications were also approved as applied for.
1.4 The purpose of each minor variance application and the Committee's decisions are
detailed in Attachment No. 1.
1.5 Staff have reviewed the Committee's decisions and are satisfied that all decisions
are in conformity with the Official Plan policies, consistent with the intent of the
Zoning By-law and are minor in nature and desirable.
1.6 Council's concurrence with the Committee of Adjustment decisions is required in
order to afford Staff's official status before the Ontario Municipal Board in the event
of an appeal of any decision of the Committee of Adjustment.
