SUBJECT: APPOINTMENTS 'TO BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS

RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended;
1. That this report be received;
2. And that the Clerk bG authorized to have the appropriate ~
advertisement published in the local newspapers on December l3', 1981;
3. And further that the'Striking Committee meet to consider appointments
and submit their recommendations to Council with respect to appoint-
ment~ to the various 'Boards and Commissions early in January 1982.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
It has been the practice~in the past to advertise in the local
• newspapers inviting the residents of the community to submit applications
for appointments to the various Boards and Commissions.
The matter of advertising was discussed by the Striking Committee on
Friday, December 4, 1981 ,I and it was determined, that the Clerk should
seek the General Purpose and Administration Committee's authorization
to place the appropriate advertisements in the local papers. Applications
could be considered prior to the end of the year, and a report with the
Striking Committee's recommendations prepared for Council's consideration
early in January 1982.
