IN THE COUNTY OF DURHAM.
WHEREAS it is desirable that the laying out an,d~supervision of all work and
expenditure upon improvement and maintenance of roads within the exclusive ~uri~sdietion
of this council should be under the supervision of a road superintendent, acting under
its direction; •
AND WHEREAS it is the desire.of this council to take advantage of The Highway
Improvementr Act s,~d Lo receive the Government grant as provided in the said Act.;
BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the council of the municipal corporation of the said
township and it
1. That
is appointed, road superintendent in the said•township Lo act as afot~esaid in accordance
with the provisions of the said Act from the_,,,_,"7 day of 19
and during the •ple~,stzre o f the said council.
2. That the road superintendent shell be paid aL the rate of $ /900. ~„
per ~..~~,/ fop such time eug ~~ ma,y be so employed. •
3. THAT it sha11 be the duty of the superintendent to lay out and supervise
all work.and e$p~nditure on roads within tY~e exclusive ~uri~sdiction of this township
council in accordance,with the provisions of the Highway improvement Act..
4. ~ THAT all ~by--laws or parts thereof and ail .and an~r .resolutions of.~said
council. contrary hereto. or inconsistent herewith,, be and the same are hereby;repealed.
5. THAT two certified copies~of this by-law.•be forwarded•by the clerk without.
delay to. the Qistrict office of the Municipal Roads Branch; Depart~menL of~Highways.~

6. THAT this by-law shall not come into forge until approved by the Minister
of Highways,•~s.provided.in the Highway Improve~ent Act.
