(3) The clerk shall transmit duplicate copies of this by-law to the district office of the Municipal Roads Branch, Department of Highways, not later than March 31st of the said year. (4) The approval of the Ontario Municipal Board shall be obtained before any expenditure is authorized or work commenced which will be financed by the issue of debentures or monies raised in a subsequent year. Dear Sir: Re: 1959 Road Expenditure By-law T~umber 131$ _Amount ~ 70,000. The Honourable Fred 1~. Cass, Minister of Highways, has authorized the approval of the above cited by-law to a limit of 1,000. for Construction ~, 30.000. , for I~iaintenance and 70,000. Total. Please be advised that expenditur?s in excess of either the construction or maintenance limits will not bP eligible for subsidy unless covered by a supplementary by-law approved by the ~l~inister. i22 `1 i t E z i t ~i'his approval is given subject to the approval of each individual work of road and 'oridge construction, each contract for maintenance and the purchase of each unit of equipment. The District P~unicipal Engineer must be a:ivised and his consent obtained before such works or purchases are advertised or tenders called or any commitment made by the township with respect to them. In the event that any portion of the cost of the proposed work or purchase is to be raised in a subsequAnt year or financed by the issue of debentures, the approval of tY~e Ontario T~~~unicipal Board must be obtained before the work or purchase is authorized or any corrimitment made with respect thereto.
