HomeMy WebLinkAbout1352The By-Law to establish the Orono Community Memorial Park as an athletic field and an outdoor swimming pool in accordance with the provisions of the Community Centres Act being R.S.O. 1950, Chapter 58 and the amendments thereto.
WHEREAS by conveyance dated March 1829 the Trustees of the
Orono Community Memorial Park Association conveyed to the Cor~
poration of the Township of Clarke lands and premises situate,
lying and being in the Village of Orono in the Township of
Clarke and County of Durham and more particularly described
therein and known as the Orono Community Memorial Park to be
held in trust by the said Corporation for the use and benefit of
residents within a four mile radius of the said lands as a
community park;
AND ~J~iEREAS by a By-Law No. 920 dated the 5th day of March
1929 the said conveyance was accepted by the said Corporation of
the said Township of Clarke end the said Lands and premises were
established as an athletic field in accordance with the Community
Hall Act being R.S.O. 192'], Chapter ~ 24'];
AND WHEREAS the Orono Community Memorial Park Association
has requested the Municipal Corporation of the Township of Clarke
to establish the said Orono Community Memorial Park as an ath-
letic field and an outdoor swimming pool for the use and benefit
of residents living within a four mile radius of the said Orono
Community Memorial Park in accordance with the Community Centres
Act being R.S.O. 1950, Chapter 5$ and the amendments thereto;
BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the Municipal Corporation of the
Township of Clarke as follows;-
1. THAT By-Law No. 920 dated the 5th day of March 1929 be
and the same is hereby repealed;
2. THAT the conveyance of the Orono Community Memorial Park
from the Trustees of the Orono Community Memorial Park Association

to the Corporation of the Township of Clarke dated March 1929
be and the same is hereby accepted by the Municipal Corpora-
tion of the Township of Clarke;
3. THAT the Orono Community Memorial Park be and it is here-
by established as a community athletic field and a community
outdoor swimming pool in accordance with the provisions of the
Community Centres Act being R.S.O. 1950, Chapter 58 and the
amendments thereto;
4. THAT the Orono Community Memorial Park shall be operated
for the use and benefit of all residents within the Township
of Clarke and shall be under the management and control of s
Board consisting of seven members each appointed by the Council
of the Nlunicipal Corporation of the Township of Clarke and
five of whom shall be resident ratepayers of the Township of
Clarke and two members of which shall be Councillors of the
Municipal Council of the Township of Clarke.
