an annual allowance for expenses for members of Council,
NOW T'~,~'~~FORE, pursuant to The ~~Funicipal Act, R.S.O. 1970,
Chapter 349 =and amendments thereto the Council of the Township
of Clarke hereby enacts as follows:
1. Section 211 of The P~unicipal .Act provides the Head of
Council may be paid such annual remuneration as Council
may deter. mine and in accordance to the polic~T of Council
his annual remuneration shall be X1500.00.
2. In accordance with the provisions of section 3$$ sub-
section 1, the Deuttj Reeve shall be paid an annual
allowance of X1000.00 and Councillors shall be paid an
annual ~~llo~~ance of :~~~50.00.
3. 'i'he remuneration and allo~~rances set out in para.~raphs
1 and 2 shall be raid annually.
4. I~ paying these sums it has been assumed that for the
purpose of allocating the total amount received for tax
purposes bet~Yeen remuneration or allovrances and payments,
that the members of Council intend to claim one third
of the total consideration received as an expense allo«~-
ance in accordance with the provisions of Section 392 of
The n.~uniei pal Act.
5. That t?~is by-law shall and. hereby. come into effect from the
passing hereof.
6. By-Law No. 168$ is hereby repealed.
