HomeMy WebLinkAbout1723A by-law of the Corporation of the Township of Clarke to appoint an Acting Clerk. Whereas Section 215 subsection 3 of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1970, Chapter 284 snd amendments thereto authorizes the Council of a municipality to appoint an Acting Clerk pro tempore, Therefore the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the Township of Clarke enacts as follows: 1. That Henry De With be and is hereby appointed Acting Clerk for the Corporation of the Township of Clarke as of January 1st, 1972. 2. That the duties and responsibilities of the Acting Clerk shall be as follows: (a) To administer`~the business affairs of the Township of Clarke in accordance with the policies and plans established and approved by the Council. (b) To co-ordinate, direct and broadly supervise the im- plementation of all programs approved by Council. (c) To codify all policy decisions of the Council and to deal with matters arising in accordance with such established ~.. policies without further reference to Council except to regularly report upon actions taken. (d) The Acting Llerk shall perform all duties to be per- formed by a Clerk under Statutory Authority and shall hold office at the pleasure: of Council or until such time a new Clerk or Acting Clerk is appointed, whichever shall occur first. (e) That the Acting Clerk shall be paid a sum per annum, bi-weekly, expressed by a resolution of Council. (f) The Acting Clerk shall not be dismissed except by a by-law passed by a vote of not less than three-fifths of all the members of Council, at a duly convened meeting of Council. - 2 .. (g) No part of this by-law shall be amended or repealed exe-ept by a vote of not less that~~three-fifths of all members of Council. 3~ That By-Law No. 1709 be and is hereby repealed.
