HomeMy WebLinkAbout1586A By-law to authorize the payment of an annual allowance, and an allowance for expenses for Members of Council.
WVHEREAS it is necessary to provide by By-law authority to
pay an annual allowance for all members of Council
NOW THEREFORE, pursuant to the provisions of The Municipal
Act RSO 1960, Chapter 2l~Q, the Municipal Council of the Township
of Clarke hereby enacts as follows:
1. In accordance with the provisions of Section 212 of The
Municipal Act, the Reeve shall be paid an annual stipend of
X1,000.00.
2. In accordance with the provisions of Section t~06 subsection
(1) subsection r-g-r the Deputy Reeve and each Councillor shall be
paid an annual stipend of y~350.00.
3. These stipends shall be paid annually.
l~.. Any deductions from these stipends shall be governed by the
provisions of subsection 4 of Section x.06.
5. In addition to the stipends set out above, the following add-
itional annual payments shall be made to the following chairmen
of standing committees under the provisions of Section 406
subsection (3?:
a. To the Chairman of the Road and Bridge Committee. X5100.00
b. To the Chairman of the Property and Finance Committee ~b100.00
c. To the Chairman of the Planning Committee X150.00
d. To the Chairman of the Fire Protection Committee X100.00
h. In paying these sums it has been assumed that far the purpose
of allocating the total amount received for tax purposes between
salary and allowances that the members of Council intend to claim
one third of the tot al consideration received as an expense allowance
in accordance with the provisions of Section l~0~3 of The Municipal Act.
7. That By-law No. 15,.3 be and is hereby repealed.
