Subject: SCHLEISS AND HOLLAND SUBDIVISION, PHASE 5, PLAN lOM-817,
CERTIFICATE OF ACCEPTANCE, ABOVE GROUND SERVICES
Recommendations:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. THAT Report WD-54-94 be received; and
2. THAT the Director of Public Works be authorized to issue a
"Certificate of .Acceptance" for the Above Ground Services
constructed within Plan lOM-817.

2.0 BACRGROUND
2.1 On August 23, 1988, the former Town of Newcastle entered into
a Subdivision Agreement with Walter Schleiss and Raymond D.
Holland to develop lands by plan of subdivision, located in
Courtice, and described as Plan lOM-817 (Attachment No. 1).
The agreement required the developer to construct boulevard
works fronting his lands, including boulevard sodding and
street trees, hereinafter referred to as the "Works".
2.2 The Above Ground Works were completed and a "Certificate of
Completion" was issued dated July 31, 1992. The system was
placed on a two (2) year maintenance period which expired on

July 31, 1994. The works were subsequently re-inspected and
any deficient Works have been corrected and are now
satisfactory.
2.3 It is now appropriate to issue a "Certificate of Acceptance"
for the Above Ground Services. The Subdivision Agreement
provides .for this certificate to be issued by the Director of
Public Works, subject to the approval of Council.
