Subject: pgTITION FROM RESIDBNTS ON MANN STRI3BT, BOWMANVILLS
Recommendations:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. THAT Report WD-35-94 be received; and
2. THAT Mr. P. Higgins be provided with a copy of Report
WD-35-94.

2.0 BACKGROUND
At a meeting held on May 30, 1994, Council passed the
following:
"Resolution #C-348-94
THAT the petition received from residents of Mann Street
regarding the condition of their street due to
construction traffic, be received;
THAT the correspondence be referred to the Director of
Public Works for review and preparation of a report to be

submitted to the General Purpose .and Administration
Committee; and
THAT Paul Higgins, lead petitioner, be advised of
Council's decision."
3.0 RSVISW AND COMMENT
3.1 Three Concerns
The residents-have three concerns:
1. Routing of heavy trucks and other vehicles of sub-
contractors on. Mann Street.
2. Build up of dirt and mud.
3. Excessive speed.
3.2 Routina of Heaw Traffic
The engineering consultant, Marshall Macklin Monaghan, and all
builders in the Schickedanz North development have agreed to
keep heavy truck traffic off Mann Street as much as possible.
The recent truck traffic on Mann Street was from trucks
hauling topsoil to eight lots in Plan lOM-800. This work is
.now complete.
3.3 Build IIp of Dust and Mud
Mud and debris has been cleaned from Mann Street by the
developer's contractor and by our forces. Staff will continue
to monitor the condition of the roads in the area and take
.appropriate action.
3.4 Sneed of Traffic
The petition has been forwarded to Durham Region Police for
appropriate action..
