Wt3EREAS Section. 228(l~ of the Municipal Act. R.S.O. 1960 requires
that eaery municipality shall by by-1aw_e~ppoint one or more auditors
wha shall be persons licensed by the Department of Municipal Affairs as
~° municipal auditors,
AND IiPHEREAS council have decided to appoint such an auditor far the
fiscal years 1961 and 1962,
AND 9~HEREAS Qounail have been a~sur®d that their nominee is e_~_ft~~ly
qualified certified public accountant who holds. the necessary licence
from the Department of Municipal Affairs within the meaning and require-
manta of the said statutory authority and that he does not fall wi~hi;;
any of the statutory prohibitions found in the said Act,
BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the Municipal Corporation of the Township
of Clarke as follows: -
1. That halter H. Pope a Certified Public Accountant of the Town of
Georgetown in the Province of Ontario is hereby appointed Municipal
Auditor for the Township of Clarke'for the fiscal years. 1961 and 1962.

2. That the said auditor will perform the corporation audit and th®
audit of all 1oea1 boards and bodies where functions fall under the legal
authority of the Township oP Clarke and other statutory duties required
of a Township auditor and any and all other specific matters of a fiscal
nature properly placed before him by the Council or the Clerk and
ancillary to his statutory function at a~ fee of Four Hundred anal Seventy-
Five Dollars (~475.00~ annually .for the fiscal years of 1962 and 1962
respectively.
3. That while this appointment is for a definite term, nothing in this
by-law shall prevent removal for cause of the said auditor within the
meaning and by the means outlined in Section 22(1) of the Municipal Act.
