Subject: NORTHEAST BO[4MANVILLE SUBDIVISION, PHASE 5, PLAN 40M-1776,
CERTIFICATE OF ACCEPTANCE, STORM SEWER SYSTEM
Recommendations:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend,to Council the. following:
1. THAT Report WD-8-97 be received;
2. THAT the Director of Public Works be authorized to issue a
'Certificate of Acceptance'. for the storm sewer. system
constructed within Plan 40M-1776..

2.0 BACKGROUND
2.1 On April 3, 1991,. the former Town of Newcastle entered into a
.subdivision agreement with Eiram Development Corp. to develop
lands by plan of subdivision, located in Bowmanville, and
described as Plan 40M-1776 (Attachment No. 1) The agreement
.required .the .developer to construct all roadworks including
hot-mix paving, curb and gutter,. sidewalks, boulevard sodding
and street trees, a storm drainage system, water quality works
and street lights, hereinafter referred to as the 'Works'.

2.2 The Storm Sewer System for Plan 40M-1776 was completed and a
'Certificate of Completion' was issued dated July 26, 1994.
The system was placed on a two (2) year maintenance period
which expired on July 26, 1996. The works were then re-
inspected and all deficiencies have now been corrected to the
satisfaction of the Director of Public Works.
2.3 It is now appropriate to issue a 'Certificate of Acceptance'
for the Storm Sewer System. The subdivision agreement
provides for this certificate to be issued by the Director of
Public Worka, subject to the approval of Council.
