Council Minutes Senior Citizens' Housing Meeting Open Committee Rise Actions approved By-Law 81-75 -9- June 1 1981 Resolution #C-669-81 Moved by Councillor Cowman, seconded by Councillor Woodyard THAT whereas the Town of Newcastle wishes to investigate the possibility of using the Registry Office site in Bowmanville for Senior Citizens' Housing; and Whereas there are non-profit Housing Groups in the Town that may receive C.M.H.C. funding in 1982; and Whereas at least one of the non-profit housing groups has expressed interest in the Registry Office site; BE IT NOW RESOLVED THEREFORE that the Town of Newcastle requests the Region of Durham to take no further action in respect of the sale of the Registry Office site at this time; and that no action be taken until further advised by the Town of Newcastle.
