Hefferon Treasurer, M. Marano Director of Planning and Development, F. Wu (Until 10:40 am.) Town Clerk, P. Barrie Councillor Stapleton led the meeting in prayer. Councillor Wotten made a declaration of interest with respect to the Minutes of the Meeting held on April 29, 1991, vacated his chair and refrained from discussion and voting. Councillor Wotten indicated that he is one of the Town's appointed Pound Keepers as well as the sole proprietor ofWotten Farms. On April 29, 1991, Council considered a report which recommended payment of certain invoices to Wotten Farms. Resolution #C-291-91 Moved by Councillor Deegan, seconded by Councillor Hanoah THAT the minutes of a regular meeting of Council held on April 29, 1991, be approved. "CARRIED" Mrs. Cheryl Mulligan, 4 Prout Drive, Bowmanville, L1C 4A4, addressed Council on behalf of the residents of Prout Drive, and requested Council's approval for a street dance which is proposed for June 8, 1991. Mrs. Mulligan indicated that the dance is being organized in the hope of inspiring community spirit and that many residents on the street are in agreement with this function. . . . Council Minutes DELEGATIONS COMMUNICATIONS - 2- May 13, 1991 Mrs. Karen Martin, 2865 Bellwood Drive, Newcastle, addressed Council with respect to a special event called Life Chain which is being planned for the Region of Durham on June 9, 1991. Families from many denominations will participate in the event by standing 15 feet apart on the side of the road or sidewalk holding a sign which reads "Abortion KiI1s Children." Mrs. Martin asked Council for some guidance with respect to various permits which may be required from the Town of Newcastle.
