HomeMy WebLinkAbout1976-01-05 ReportReport No. 1. .Iayor Rickard and Members of Councils - The following recommendations to Council were made at a meet.ng of the Community Services Committee held on January 5, 1976: 1. Newcastle Fire Hall That the Mayor contact Totten Sims Hubicki Associates regarding their Firm acting as Consulting Engineers on this project and all proposals be held until Totten Sims Hubicki Associates have studied them. 2. Fire Prevention School, Whitby That mileage be paid for those Firemen whom the Fire Chief recommends to attend the Course at the Regional Fire Prevention School to be held at Whitby for 13 weeks. 3. Mutual Aid Meeting January 16 That, they concur with the request of the Fire Chief to provide refreshments following the meeting of the Durham Region Mutual Aid on January 16, 1976, to be held in Bowmanville. $75. be allotted for this item and if more is necessary, the Chairman of the Community Services Committee be authorized to grant the request. 4. Dog Licence Fees That the Animal Control By-law be amended as follows: Section 2 (1) be deleted and the following substituted: "Except as otherwise provided by this by-law the owner of every dog in the Town of Newcaotle shall, before the 1st day of April, 1976 pay to the Town of Newcastle a license fee of $8.00 for each dog and after April 1, 1976, the fee shall be $10. for each dog" and furthermore that a Notice to this effect be included with the Interim Tax Bill and advertised in the local papers. 5. Bowmanville Arena That the Director of Recreation ask Canadian Ice Machine to provide the Committee with a report on the renovations which may be necessary at the Bowmanville Arena and also provide an alternate estimate.
