Mayor Rickard and Members of Council: -
The following is a report of a meeting of the Community Services Committee
held on July 7, 1980:
1. Fire Reports
The fire reports for May and June, 1980 were received and filed and because of
the increase in calls, relative to automobiles, the Fire Chief and Town Manager
were asked to investigate if there are greater sources of revenue in this area.
2. Erosion Control - Orono Park
It was recommended to Council that the work of erosion control in Orono Park
be carried out by the Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority and the Town pay
$1,551. for materials and the cost be charged to the Parks Reserve Fund.
3. Sports Timer - Bowmanville Arena
It was recommended to Council that they accept the proposal of Uxbridge Beverages
(Coca Cola) for a Sports Timer, covered by a five year mntractfor sales of soft
drinks.
4, Tenders - Pick Up Truck
The tenders for a pick up truck for the fire department were opened and the Fire
Chief was asked to evaluate them with regard to specifications and review them in
conjunction with the budget and report back to Council meeting.
5. Tenders - Tandem Float
The tenders for a tandem float for the community services department were opened
and were referred to staff to report back to Council meeting.
6. August meeting
It was recommended to Council that any meeting of the Community Services Committee
for the month of August, be at the call of the Chair.
