Mayor Rickard and Members of Council: -
The following is a report of the meeting of the Community Services
Committee held on February 4, 1980:
1. Appointments to Boards and Committees
It was recommended to Council that:
(a) the attached appointments to Boards and Committees be
approved and the Secretary advise Newtonville, Tyrone
and Solina that the Town will insure 5 members of the
Committee, namely the Chairman, Past Chairman, Vice -
Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer and the Boards
advise the Town which 5 members they wish to insure.
(b) Council appointments to Boards and Committees be
referred to the Striking Committee.
2. Agreement re Soper Creek Park Extension
It was recommended to Council that the Agreement with the Jaycees
and Kinsmen not be renewed and the Parks Department continue
maintaining Soper Creek Park extension as was done last
summer.
3. Interference - Fire Radio Communications System
It was recommended to Council that the Town Manager and the Fire Chief be
authorized to go personally to the appropriate office to have the matter
of the radio interference to Town of Newcastle Radio Communication System
attended to and Mr. Allan Lawrence, M.P. be requested to support them.
4. Save -A -Child Project
It was recommended to Council that they recognize and support the project of
the Bowmanville Jaycees relative to the "Save -A- Child".
