Mayor Rickard and Members of Council:—
The following is a report of the meeting of the Community Services Committee
held on Tuesday, February 20th, 1979:
1. Environmental Protection Act
It was recommended to Council that the report dated February 2, 1979 submitted
by the Fire Chief, which recommended that Council support proposed Bill 209, to
amend the Environmental Protection Act 1971, be adopted.
2. Appointments to Boards and Committees
It was recommended to Council that the following appointments be made to Boards
and Committees:

3. Arena Management Workshop
It was recommended to Council that Mr. Fanning, Mr. Payne and Councillor Prout
be authorized to attend a workshop on Arena Management at the Latchman Centre
in Port Perry on March 6th, 1979.
4. Newcastle Arena Community Centre Board
It was recommended to Council that the Town Clerk advertise for people wishing
to serve on the Newcastle Arena Community Centre Board.
5. Public Meeting
It was recommended to Council that the Newcastle Arena Community Centre Board be
advised that Council will call a Public Meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20,
1979, for the purpose of electing people to the Newcastle Arena Community Centre
Board.
6. Organizational Chart
It was recommended to Council that the Director of Community Services review his
Department's Organizational Chart with the Town Manager and that the Town
Manager report thereon to Council.
