HomeMy WebLinkAbout1978-08-28 Reportt Report lel I Mayor Rickard and Members of Council: - The following is a report of a meeting of the Community Services Committee held on August 28th, 1978. 1. Farmers Market It was recommended to Council that the Municipality take over the operation of the Farmers Market on a trial basis until October 19, 1978, under the Clerk's Department by the By -Law Enforcement Officer. 2. Courtice Fire Hall #4 It was recommended to Council that the Fire Chief be authorized to proceed with recruiting personnel and ordering future requirements of communications, duty clothing etc., for Fire Hall #4, at Courtice. 3. Fire- Stedmans Store It was recommended that, in response to the memorandum from Fire Chief Hayman, Mayor Rickard write to Chief Stacey and the Oshawa Fire Department and the Secretary write to St. John's Church, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Canadian Legion, the Red Cross and the Salvation Army, and a Notice be published in the Canadian Statesman, the Newcastle Reporter and the Orono Times, thanking those organizations and the wives of the firefighters and many other individuals for their invaluable assistance during the Fire at Stedmans Store on August 20, 1978. 4. Canada Jam - Mosport Park It was recommended to Council that they express appreciation to various agencies such as the Fire Department, the Durham Regional Police, the Ontario Provincial Police, the Durham Regional Health Unit and the S onsors of Canada Jam, Saturday, August 26, 1978, at Mosport Park for the goo managemen othe affair.
