Mayor Rickard and Members of Council: -
The following is a report of a meeting of the Community Services Committee held
on March 13, 1978 at 1:15 p.m. in Court Room #2.
1. Wind Damage Visual Arts Centre
It was recommended to Council that they accept the proposal of Ashley 333
in the amount of $3,557. for repairs to wind damage to the roof of the
Visual Arts Building. (Taken to Council March 13; 1978)
2. Orono Swimming Programme
It was recommended to Council that the Town take over the administration of
the swimming programme in Orono provided the cost to the Town is no greater
than last year.
3. Stand-by Pump Darlington Sports Centre
It was recommended to Council that authority be given to the Director of
Community Services to instal a stand-by pump at the Darlington Sports Centre.
4. Sign Newcastle Ball Park
It was recommended to Council that permission be granted to instal a sign
at the Newcastle Village Ball Park provided it conpltes with the Town of
Newcastle By-laws.
5. Meeting re Hampton Park Conservation Area
It was recommended to Council that the meeting requested by the Town with
C.L.O.C.A. regarding the Hampton Park Conservation Area be held on Tuesday,
April 25, 1978 at 7:30 p.m, in the Darlington Sports Centre.
G. Mens Teachers Federation
It was recommended to Council that the Men's Teachers Federation be advised
that Town Policy allows no reduction in the cost of ice time at the Arenas
for Charity Groups owing to restraints in the budget at this time.
7. Debt Charges Bovmanville Plena
It was recommended to Council that the Debt Charges related to the debentured
repairs to the Bowmarville Arena be charged to lot. levies.
