Mayor Rickard and Members of Council: -
The following is a report of a meeting of the Community Services Committee held
on August 8, 1977:
1. Opening of Arenas - Bowmanville and Darlington
It was recommended to Council that the dates of the openings of Arenas as
recommended by the Director of Parks and Recreation be adopted as follows:
Bowmanville Memorial Arena - September 13, 1977 and Darlington Sports Centre,
September 29, 1977.
2. Pollution in Ice Rinks
The attached repoQrt of the Director of Parks and Recustion regarding Pollution
in Ice Rinks was'Concurred with and forwarded to Council
3. Summer Programmes
The report of the Director of Parks and Recreation regarding registration in
summer programmes, was received for information.
4. Jaycees Programmes
In keeping with the report of the Director of Parks and Recreation, it was
recommended to Council that a letter be sent to the Jaycees requesting them
to clean up after completing their programmes.
5, deCycles Club
It was recommended to Council that a letter be sent to the Bowmanville Lions
Club thanking them for their co-operation in housing the members of the deCyclers
Club on July 26, 1977.
6. Fall and Winter Fees for Recreation Programmes
The following Schedule of Fall and Winter Fees for 1977-78 was recommended
to Council:

7. Lease Renewal re Park
It was recommended to Council that the ]ease between the Town and Mutt Ent+
Ltd., Milani & Milani Holdings Ltd. and Rye Investments Ltd. regarding twe
being part of Lot 15, Con. 1, former Township of Darlington for the use of
be renewed one year from the date of. signing.
8. Wading Pool - Lora Elgin Park
It was recommended to Council that the wading pool at Lord Elgin park be W
out and the ground levelled.
4. Arena Closings on Thanksgiving Day
It was recommended to Council that the Arenas at Bowmanville and the Darling
Sports Centre be closed on Thanksgiving Day as recommended by the Arena Mans
Mr. Roy Neads.
