The following is a report of the meeting of the Community Services Committee held
on June 20, 1977:
1. Septemberfest - Darlington Sports Centre
It was recommended to Council that the Bowmanville Hockey Association be allowed
to rent the Darlington Sports Centre for a "Septemberfest" for three nights,
September 15, 16 and 17 at a fee of $400. subject to authorization by the
Recreation Director and this be confirmed in writing.
2. Lot Levies Reserve Analysis
The Treasurer's report on Lot Levies Reserve Analysis was received for information.
3. Rural Employment Incentives Program
It was recommended to Council that the Municipality make application for a
grant under the Rural Employment Incentives Program 1977-78 offered by the
Ministry of Agziculture and Food and this be under the direction of the Director
of Parks and Recreation.
4. Canada Non -Stop Coast to Coast Relay Run
It was recommended to Council that Mr. Fanning, Director of Parks and Recreation
in co-operation with Mr. Jim Robinson of the Jaycees, work out a program to
participate in the Canada Non -Stop Coast to Coast Relay Run.
5. Proposed Agreement re Swimming Pool
The agreement with the Northumberland and Newcastle Board of Education regarding
a swimming pool at Bowmanville High School was tabled for further review with
copies to be sent to all members of Council and they be invited to the next
meeting of the Community Services Committee.
