Mayor Rickard and Members of Council: -
The following recommendations to Council were made at a meeting of the Community
Services Committee on December 2, 1975:
1. Fire Chief's Vacation
That The Fire Chief's request to carry over two weeks of his 1975 vacation into
1976 be concurred with.
2. Installation of light - Darlington Sports Centre
That they approve of the action of the Director of Recreation in having a 400
watt sentinel light installed on the post by the entrance to the Darlington
Sports Centre at a cost ofapproximately $6.00 per month.
3. Maintenance of light in tunnel
That it be drawn to the attention of Council, the question of the responsibility
for the maintenance of lighting in the tunnel under Regional Road 57.
4. Use of Visual ARts Centre
That Mr. Fanning and the Rev. Cake explore the possibility of suitable
accomodation for the Boys and Girls Club and the Visual Arts Association have
the use of the Visual Arts Centre.
5. Visit of Swedish Hockey Team
That Mr. Fanning extend full cooperation to the Bowmanville Minor Hockey
Association with regard to the visit of the Swedish Hockey Team.
6. Report re Fire Hall -Village of Newcastle
That in view of the fact that debenturing is complete for a new Fire Hall in the
Village of Newcastle, Totten Sims Hubicki Associates be requested to report back
to the next meeting regarding renovation plans and target date for completion
of the new Fire Hall.
7. School Board Site for Fire Hall
That a letter be sent to the Northumberland and Newcastle Board of Education
inquiring as to the availability of their site at Trull's Road and Highway #2
for a Fire Station and the price.
