HomeMy WebLinkAbout1975-11-17 ReportReport No. 1 Mayor Rickard and Members of Council: - The following is a report of a meeting of the Community Services Committee held on November 17, 1975 1. Old Kirby School That it be recommended to Council that they advise the School Board that there is a new interest in the use of the Old Kirby School by the Clarke Museum Board and ask them to provide an evaluation of the school for that purpose. 2, Park - Waverly Gardens That Mr. Fanning, the Director of Recreation, give priority to developing a park in Waverly Gardens, next to the school, including landscaping, shade trees upgrading of the turf and the funds to be furnished from the lot levies. 3. Rent of Land opposite Alonna Street That a letter be written to Bowmanville West Community with a request to rent a piece of land, until other arrangements can be made, in the vicinity immediately south of the existing barn opposite Alonna Street. �. Letter from B.M.H.A. That in reply to a letter to Council, Mr. Brian Purdy of the B.M.H.A. be advised that the Arena in the Village of Newcastle is run by an independent Board, the matter of ice time for use of B.M.H.A, teams has now been solved with the help of Mr. Neads, Manager of Bowmanville Arena and with regard to cost of putting a recreation player on the ice, a copy of a report by Mr. Kennett be sent to them.
