HomeMy WebLinkAbout1975-11-03 ReportReport No. 1 Mayor Rickard and Members of Council - The following is a report of the Community Services Meeting held on November 39 1975: 1. Swimming Pool at Bowmanville Iiigh School That the question of a Swimming Pool be declared premature at this time but it be recommended to Council that they look at the Capital Budget next year to start planning for the future. 2. Parkland - Waverly Gardens Subdivision That the Committee recommend to Council that as one of the alternatives to the parkland problem in Waverly Gardens, they try to negotiate for a piece of suitable parkland, lease if necessary, on the west side of Martin Road in the vicinity of Alonna Crescent. 3. Fence - Newcastle Swimming Pool That the revised cost of $771.00 for Frost Fence at the Newcastle Swimming Pool be approved. 4. Cooling System - Darlington Sports Centre That Pottovs price for the condensor for the cooling system at the Darlington Sports Centre, be accepted, $271.67. 5. Steering Committee - Soper Creek Park That a Steering Committee be formed for the development of Soper Creek Park and the following groups appoint a representative to the Committee: Council, Town of Newcastle Recreation Committee, the Bowmanville Jaycees, and the Central Lake Ontario Conservation Authority. 6. Subletting of Ice Time in Arenas That Council permit no subletting of ice time in the Arenas in the Town of Newcastle. 7. Water - Darlington Sports Centre That in an emergency, Mr. Cliff Pethick be called to deliver water to the Darlington Sports Centre and a report be submitted every 4 weeks on the amount of water trucked in. 8. Fire Protection - Ward 1 That it be recommended to Council that they call a meeting in the West side of Ward 1 regarding Fire Protection in that area. Respectfully submitted, D. W. Allin, Chairman.
