Mayor Rickard and Members of Council: -
The following recommendations to Council were made at a meeting of the Community
Services Committee on October 20, 1975:
1. Gifts for Swedish Juvenile Hockey Team
That the request of the Bowmanville Minor hockey Association for Council
assistance in providing gifts to a Swedish Juvenile Hockey Team playing in
Bowmanville on January 4, 1976, be approved in principle up to a maximum amount
of $200. and that Mr. Shackleton be requested to submit suggestions as to what
the gift might be.
2. Darlington Sports Centre - Drainage
That drainage work at the Darlington Sports Centre parking lot be carried out
in accordance with the memo of the Director of Public Works dated October 20,
1975, at an estimated cost of $1,795.80.
3. Darlington Sports Centre - Snow Clearing
That the snow clearing at the Darlington Sports Centre be carried out by the
Public Works Department as and when priorities allow.
4. Fence at Newcastle Swimming Pool
That the quotation of Frost Fence be accepted in an amount of $800. provided that
it is of the same strength and material as the other quotations.
5. Cover for Newcastle Lions Swimming Pool
That a Daycran cover be purchased for the Newcastle Swimming Pool at a total
cost of $870.32.
6. Girls Hockey
That the fee for Girls Hockey be set at $20. per pers=on as recommended by the
Director of Recreation.
7. Tot's Skating
That the fee for Tot's skating be .50C per person.
8. Bowmanville Swimming Pool
That the Bowmanville Pool be not assumed by the Town until all deficiencies
are rectified.
9. Bleachers, Solina School
That the Solina School be granted the use of the portable bleachers.
10. Animal Control Truck
That the McDonald Ford tender for a 1975 truck be accepted in an amount of
$4,581.15 and that the old truck be not traded at this time.
