Mayor Rickard and Members of Council: -
The following recommendations to Council were made at a meeting of the
Community Services Committee on September 15, 1975:
1. Newcastle Lions Swimming Pool
That the Town absorb the cost of services for water and sewer installations
within Town lands at the Newcastle Lions Swimming Pool.
2. That the agreement between the Town of Newcastle and the Newcastle Lions
Club re the Swimming Pool be extended to December 31, 1975.
3. Volunteer Firemen Station #1
That the number of Volunteer Firemen in Station No. 1 be increased to
30 and a schedule of their time on call be drawn up and that consideration
be given to those who are available day or night.
4. August Report Fire Department
That the August report of the Fire Department be adopted.
5. Fire Receiving Control System extension
That Council approve of the extension of the Receiving Control System
of the Fire Department to include 20 additional zones at a cost of
$1,249.99 plus Provincial Sales Tax, if this can be accomodated within
the 1975 Budget.
6. Brownsdale Recreation Centre Account
That the account of A111n & Son, for the Brownsdale Recreation Centre
in the amount of $6,299. being $5,425, balance of contract plus $874.
addition cost for reinforcing supports and enclosing stairwell, be paid.
