The following is•a report of the recommendatins to Council
made at a meeting of the Community Services Committee on July
21, 1975.
1. Social Planning Council Brief.
That the brief presented by the Newcastle Social Planning
Council to consider an indoor swimming facility adjacent to
Bowmanville High School be supported in principle and that
a request go to the School Board to seek their opinion of
this project. (attached)
2. Replacement of. locks, Darlington Sports Centre
That the locks on the players benches at the Darlington Sports
Centre be replaced at an approximate cost of $280.
Schedule of rates
That the Arena Managers' Schedule of rates for ice rentals in
Arenas be accepted.
4. Admission fees
That the admission to Sports facilities in the Town of Newcastle
follow the increasing costs of inflation.
5. Swimming Pools
That the fees and policy of season passes at the Swimming Pools
remain the same as at present.
6. That the Deboo family be give two seasons passes to the Memorial
Park Swimming Pool
7. That the Broomball Players must wear a type of shoe specified
by the Arena Manager.
8. Crests
That the Crests for summer programme be ordered from Crestex
at a cost of $301.72.
Boxing Day
That the schedule for pleasure skating at the Bowmanville and
Darlington Arenas on Boxing Day presented by the Director of
Recreation be approved.

10. Newcastle Day
That August 20, 1975, be Newcastle Day in Orono.Park with
Country Music, 2 T•Bali games and a Ball gave between the
Town'of Newcastle and the Region of Durham.
11.. Fire - Taunton Road
That they concur with the Fire Chief's recommendation in the
matter of the fire on Taunton Road and pay Maguire and Sons,
R. R. # 3, Bowmanville, $10.00 for the load of water used.
