Mayor Rickard and Members of Council:
The following recommendations to Council were made at a meeting of the
Community Services Committee held in the BOwmanville Committee Room on
Monday, July 7th, 1975 at 1:00 p.m.: -
1. Kennel Licence
THAT By -Law No. 74-29 be amended to the effect that a Kennel Licence be requiTed> h,carr
for any householder with more than three dogs. 001-•
2. Dog Tags
THAT Sections 5(2) and 5(5) under the Dog Licencing and Live Stock and Poultry
Protection Act regarding Dog Tags be included into By -Law No. 74-29 with a Rel" tea' ,r e
$10.00 out of Court Fine to anyone not compling with this Section.
3. Dogs Running at Large
THAT Section 7(3) of the Dog Licencing and Live Stock and Poultry Protection
be added to the Town of Newcastle Animal Control By -Law No. 74-29.

4. Payment out of Court
THAT Section 7(5) of the Dog Licencing and Live Stock and Poultry Protection Act be
added to the Town of Newcastle Animal Control By --Law No. 74-29.
5. Changing of Village of Newcastle Fire Department Teleehone Number
THAT the Newcastle Fire Department Fire Hall No. 2 telephone number remain the
same.
6. Additional Telephones Fire Hall No. 2
THAT no action be taken with regards to District Fire Chief Glanville=s request for
additional telephones being installed for volunteer firemen.
7. Additional Firemen Hall No. 2
THAT the Area Fire Chief's request to hire two additional man for Newcastle Fire
Department Hall No. 2 be concurred with.
8. Volunteer Firemen Hall No. 3
THAT this Committee concurs with the recommendation of the Area Fire Chief in
replacing two firemen in Orono Fire Hall No. 3 with Jim Partner and David Forrester.
9. Volunteer Firemen
THAT all Volunteer Firemen must live within ono and a half (13/4) miles of their Fire
Station.

10. Township of Manvers Accident
THAT a letter be sent to the Township of Manvers advising them that there will be
no charge for the Town of Newcastle services with regards to the attempted rescue
of a man from a well, but that they reimburse Mr. T. Veenhof $50.00 for his services.
11. Hampton Park Lands
THAT it is the recommendation of this Committee that in response to Central Lake
Ontario Conservation Authority!s letter dated June 6th, 1975 regarding Hampton Park
that the Park be used as a more passive use rather than recreational use.
12. Fencing of McLean's Cemetery
THAT it be recommended to Council that the necessary steps be taken to fence
McLeanls Cemetery and perimeter in the south half of Lot 9, Concession 8, Township
of Clarke.
13. Newcastle Swimming Pool
THAT the Director of Recreation be authorized to draw up a Supplementary Budget
and hire Staff for the Village of Newcastle Swimming Pool.
14. Lawn Mower
THAT the Director of Recreation be authorized to purchase a new lawn mower.
15. Soccer Nets
THAT the Director of Recreation be authorized to purchase Soccer Nets for the
Courtice Athletic Association.
16. Hamjton Park Lands
THAT the Town Clerk be advised to supply the necessary information as requested by the
Central Lake Ontario Conservation Authority in their letter dated April 22nd, 1975
regarding Hampton Park Lands and furthermore, that the Mayor be the Municipal Official
who will be consulting with the Authority on this transfer.
