Mayor Rickard and Members of Council: -
The following is a report of a meeting of the Community Services Committee held
on November 25, 1976:
1. Aluminum Windows for Animal Pour?
Mr. H. G. Wight, Chief Building T-,s?ector, presented two prices for aluminum
windows at the Animal Pound and it was recommended to Council that the lower
price, $430. be accepted and the work done and charged to this year's budget.
2. Agreement re Cream of Barley Mill
It was recommended to Council that they enter into an Agreement for a Lease
with the Visual Arts regarding use of the Cream of Barley Mill and that they
be given immediate occupancy and the terms and conditions be worked out between
the Town and the Visual Arts with the assistance of the Town Solicitor.
3. Animal Control Report for October
The attached Animal Control Report for the month of October, 1976 was received
for information and he was asked to prepare a report of the 1976 activities
in his Department.
4. Minitor Monitors for Fire Hall X12
It was recommended that the Fire Chief's recommendation that Minitor Monitors
be procured for 9 Volunteer firemen at the Village of Newcastle at a cost of
$119.15 per month for 3 yGErs be f3rwarded to Council for its consideration and
` the Chief be present to explain the system.
5. Agreement re Orono Arena
It was recommended to Council that the Treasurer and the Clerk be given authority
to consult with the Solicitor regarding an Agreement with the Durham Central
Agricultural Society regarding the Orono Arena.
6. Bowmanville Jaycaes use of Orono Town Hall Office.
It was recommended to Council that they agree in principle with the Bowmanville
Jaycees using the Recreation Office in the 1-asement of the Orono Town Hall and
Mr. Fanning bring in a recommen,'ation regarding arrangements.
7. Lawn Mowers for Bowmanville Cemetery
It was recommended that the lower of two quotations for lawn mowers for the
Bowmanville Cemetery be accepted, 2 lawn mowers at a total cost of $269.55.
8. Bowmanville Cemetery Report
The Cemetery Manager's Report for October was received for information:
No. of Funerals - 4 No. of Openings - 4 - $235.00
No. of Plots sold 6 - $540.00
