Mayor Rickard and Members of Council: -
The following is a report of a meeting of the Community Services Committee held
in the Bowmanville Committee Room on October 18, 1976:
1. Secretary -Treasurer Bowmanville Cemetery
It was recommended to Council that Mrs. Helen Depew be appointed Secretary -
Treasurer of the Bowmanville Cemetery, according to the By-law and that she
attend the next meeting of the Community Services Committee.
2. Santa Claus Parade
It was recommended to Council that a pumper and station wagon from the Fire
Department be permitted to enter the Santa Claus Parade in Bowmanville.
3. Volunteer Fireman Station #1
It was recommended to Council that the resignation of volunteer fireman
Harold Martyn at Fire Station #1, Bowmanville, be accepted and a letter of
appreciation be sent to him and the Fire Chief be given the authority to
hire a replacement volunteer.
4. Reports re Fire Safety in Schools
It was recommended that the Fire Chief complete the reports on Fire Safety
Inspections at all schools in the area and send them to the Northumberland
and Newcastle Board of Education and the Committee concur with his professional
concerns.
5. Equipment Replacement Schedule
It was recommended that the Recreation Department set up a schedule of,equipment
and equipment replacement with projections for 5 years.
6. Tender for Truck
It was recommended that the Recreation Department call Tenders for a new truck.
