Payor Rickard and Members of Council. -
The following is a report of a meeting of the Community Services Committee held
on October 4, 1976:
1. Meeting re Proposed Fire Hall in Courtice Area
It was recommended to Council that a meeting be held in the Courtice Area
relative to a proposed Fire Station to serve the western part of the Municipality.
2. Lights Orono Park
It was recommended that the Director of Parks and Recreation arrange a meeting
with the Orono Chamber of Commerce for turning over to the Town, the lights in
Orono Park.
3. Ice Rental Contracts
It was recommended that the Recreation Department use the Oshawa Model Contiact
with modifications, regarding Ice Rentals in Arenas in the Town.
4. Animal Control Report
The Animal Control Report for September, attached, was received for information.
5. Heritage Committee
It was recommended that the Secretary's report on the formation of a Local
Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee and the letter from the Ministry
of Culture and Recreation be received for information and forwarded to the
persons who have indicated an interest and the matter be held for further study.
6. Santa Claus Parade Building
It was recommended to Council that they support in principle, a request from
the Bowmanville Santa Claus Parade Committee to construct a building for storage
on Works Department property, at no cost to the municipality, provided the Works
Committee feel it can be accommodated.
