HomeMy WebLinkAbout1976-04-19 ReportReport No. 1 Mayor Rickard and Members of Council: - The following is a report of a meeting of the Community Services Committee held on 4pril 19th, 1976, at 7 p.m.; i. Newcastle Recreation Committee Mr. George Wind of the Village of Newcastle Recreation Committee was present to discuss the Committee and it was recommended to Council that, at the request of the Newcastle Recreation Committee, the work of the Committee be melded under the Parks and Recreation Director. 2. Trophies for B.M.H.A. Ontario Champions It was left with Mr. Fanning and Councillor Allin to provide trophies for the three Ontario Championship Teams of the B.M.H.A. and the money be taken from the Civic Budget. 3. Fees Orono Park It was recommended that the fees for Orono Park remain the same as for 1975, as recommended -by the Director of Pxrk5 and Recreation. 4. Memorial Park Agreement It was recommended that the proposed Memorial Park Agreement be presented to the Association for signatures. 5. Park - Martin Road It was recommended that a letter be sent to Mr. MIlani asking him to draw up a lease for the park at Martin Road as the Town requires such a document for insurance coverage. 6. Soccer Net - Hampton It was recommended to Council that a Soccer Net be purchased for Hampton Park. 7. Newcastle Recreation Advisory Committee A meeting of the Community Services Committee with the Newcastle Recreation Advisory Committee was called for Wednesday, May 5, 1976, in Court Room #1. 8. Orono Booth Rent It was recommended that the rent for the Booth at Orono Park remain at $150. as in 1975. 9. Newcastle Fire Hall #2 It was recommended that the added cost of $582. for paint and plywood for Fire Hall #2 be taken from the Contingency Fund and that the $1500. Regional Charge for Water hook up be treated as an extra to the contract. 10. Antique Articles in Fire Hall It was recommended that a letter be sent to the Secretary of the Bowmanville Museum Committee, in reply to her letter of April 5, that the articles at the Fire Hall stay in the Fire Hall but be available on loan for special exhibits and a copy of the letter be sent to the Town of Newcastle Museum Board Chairman.
