Mayor Rickard and Members of Council: -
The following is a report of the meeting of the Community Services Committee held
on March 1, 1976 in Court Room ill of the Police and Fire Building:
1. Bell Canada
The following Resolution was passed "That Whereas confusion arises over Bell
Canada service in the new Town of Newcastle as subscribers are listed under the
former Community design: -tions, be if resolved that Bell Canada put greater
stress on the cross index page contained in the telephone book to help customers
seeking telephone numbers."
2. Secretariat for Habitat
That the letter from the Ontario Secretariat for Habitat be received for information,
3. Use of Bowmanville Town Hall Auditorium
That with regard to the request of the Waverley Association for the use of the
Town Hall Auditorium for movie::, the intent is subscribed to by this Committee
but it be left to Mr. Fanning to find some other suitable location.
4. Waverley Community Association Charter
That the Charter of the Waverley Community Association be supported in principle
and received for information.
5. Tot Skating Program
That the report of Mr. Neads, the Arena Manager, re Tot skating be received for
information and his suggested date for cut off of the program, of approximately
April 1, be accepted.
6. Spring and Summer Fee Schedules
That it be recommended to Council that the following Spring and Summer Fee
Schedule and Swimming Pool admission rates be ---a:

7. B.M.H.A. Ice Rental Paine Ridge Tournament
That owing to budget economic pressure, the Committee regrets they cannot give
permission for a reduced ice rental to the B.M.H.A. for the Pine Ridge Hockey
Tournament scheduled for March 25, 26 and 27 in the Darlington and Bowmanville
Prams.

8. Director of Recreation Absence
That the Director of Recreation be permitted to be absent on Tuesday, March 2.
9. Cemetery Lot 24, B.F. Con. Darlington
That the informatian from Ontario Hydro regarding a cemetery in Lot 24, B.F.
Con. former Darlington Township be forwarded to the Darlington Cemetery
Committee when it is formed and the location be noted.
10. Budgets
That Budget procedures be postponed until the Committee receives direction
from Council as to the percentage which Budgets can jump.
