Mayar Rickard and Members of Council: -
The following is a report of the meeting of the Community Services Committee held
on February 2, 1976, at 1 p.m.:
1. Animal Control Truck
That it be recommended to Council that a new clutch be installed in the old truck
at Animal Control at a cost of approximately $75.00.
2. Fees for dogs destroyed or sold by the Pound
That it be recommended to Council that the Animal Control By-law be amended to
provide for a fee of $4. for a dog brought to the Pound and $8. for a dog picked
up by the Animal Control Officers to be disposed of or sold through the services
of the Animal Control Officers.
3. Use of Darlington Arena
That it be recommended to Council that they concur with the request of M. J. Hobbs
School to use the Darlington Sports Centre for their Graduation Ceremonies on
June 12th, at no charge.
4. Hockey Crests
That it be recommended to Council that Hockey Crests be purchased from Crestex
Limited at a cost of $468.53.
5. Sanding Community Hall Parking Lots
That it be recommended to the Committee of the Whole that the opinion of the
Community Services Committee is that the Policy of sanding the Town Owned
Community Hall Parking lots be the responsibility of the local Management
Botard and the Department of Public Works be asked for their opinion.
6. Arena Closings Good Friday and Easter Sunday
That it be recommended to Council that they concur with the recommendation of
the Director of Recreation that the Bowmanville Arena and the Darlington Sports
Centre remain closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday until 2 p.m.
7. Clarke Cemetery Board
That Councillor Lyall be appointed to the Clarke Cemetery Board.
8. Apartment over Fire Hall, Village of Newcastle
That the apartment over the Fire Hall in the Village of Newcastle be rerovated
and rented.

9. Abandoned Cemeteries Board for Darlington
That a Committee for the care of Abandoned Cemeteries in Darlington Township
be appointed and the Chairman and Councillor Tink suggest members for this Board.
10. Mcaeum Board
That the Chairman, Councillor Cowman, and Councillor Allin be appointed to the
Town of Newcastle Museum Board for 1976.
11. Recreation Advisory Committee
That the Newcastle Recreation Advisory Committee be reappointed for 1976.
