Minutes of a Committee of the Whole Meeting held on April 25th, 1979 at
5:00 p.m.
Present Were: Mayor Carnet B. Rickard
Councillor Maurice Prout
Councillor Ivan Hobbs
Councillor Jasper Holliday
Councillor William Clarke
Councillor Keith Barr
Absent:
Councillor Ann Cowman
As there was no Clerk present at the meeting Mayor Rickard acted as Clerk
and tool: a count of hands to ascertain if Members of Council wanted to deal
with the business of Non -Union Salaries. On taking a count of hands it was
unanimously decided that this matter would be dealt with.
Moved by Councillor Holliday,seconded by Councillor Clarke
THAT the Committee approve of recommendations presented.
Moved by Councillor Barr, seconded by Councillor Prout.
THAT the following amendments be made to the recommendations:
ILrcrease Total Clerk from $27,000.00 to $28,000.000 per annum
Increase Treasurer from $27,000.00 to $28,000.00 per annum
Increase Deputy -Director of Community Services from $16,200.00 to $17,500 per
annum
Moved by Councillor Hobbs, seconded by Councillor Barr
THAT the motion be divided:
Town Clerk's salary increased from $27,000.00 to $28,000.00.
Vote: 4 in favour

Treasurer's salary increased from $27,000.00 to $225,000.00
Vote: 3 in favour

Depute -Director of Community Servicos' salary increased From $16,200.00
to $1.7,500.00.
Vote: 2 in Favour

Moved by Councillor Trout, .Seconded by Councillor Barr
THAT the Deputy Director of Coimnunity Services' salary be increased from
$16,200.00 to $17,000.00.
Vote: 4 in favour
2 against
"CARRIED"
Moved by Councillor Prout, seconded by Councillor Barr
THAT the salaries for Non -Union Staff be approved as amended.
Vote: 4 in favour
2 against
CARRIED"
Moved by Councillor Holliday, seconded by Councillor Clarke
THAT the meeting be adjourned.
