HomeMy WebLinkAbout1975-03-03 ReportMayor Rickard and Members of Council: The following recommendations to Council were made at a meeting of the Community Services Committee held on March 3, 1975, at 1 p.m.: 1. Brownsdale Community Centre Plans That the corrections suggested by the Building Inspector be incorporated in the Plans for the Renovation of the Brownsdale Community Centre, the Association be advised and the plans be put out for tender. 2. Goal Frames That they concur with the recommendation of the Director of Recreation to purchase a second set of Goal frames at a cost of $69000 plus tax, to be used at the Bowmanville and Darlington Arenas. 3. Orono Town Hall That activities at the Orono Town Hall be put under the direction of the Director of Recreation. 4. Newtonville Recreation That recreation activities in Newtonville, as organized by the Director of Recreation, commence on March 5, 1975. 5. Arena Manager's Course -:•Guelph University That Fred Payne, John Hughes and Brian Hughes be authorized to attend the Arena Manager's Course to be held at the University of Guelph, May 12th to 16th at a total cost of $285.00. 5. Burial for dogs That the Works Department provide a suitable area for burial of dogs and a report be returned to the next meeting of the Committee. 7. Ads re" dogs for sale That the Animal Control Officer place ads alternately in the three local papers, Canadian Statesman, Orono Weekly Times and the Newcastle Reporter regarding dogs available for sale at the Pound. 8. Desk and Chair - Orono Office That Councillor Lyall and H. Best look into the matter of the old desk and captain's chair in the Orono Office and turn them over to the Clark Museum.
