The following recommendations to Council were made at a Meeting of the Community.
Services Committee on January 20, 1975:
1. Arena.Problem Orono
That they institute a meeting of the. Community Services Committee, the Durham
Central Agricultural Fair Board and the Orono Amateur Athletic Society to study
the Arena problem in Orono.
2.. Kendal Recreation Committee
That the report of the Director of Recreation regardinginformation
a
meeting wid th, the eeKetoal
Recreation Committee on January 14, be received for
Budget 1975 and Councillor Lyall check with the. Treasurer regarding grants to
Committee in 1974.
3. Exercise Room - Darlington Sports Centre
That the request of Mr. Raby for the use of a room at the Darlington Sports Centre
for an exercise room not be entertained at this time,
4. Equipment for Darlington Sports Centre
That the Sports equipment for the Darlington Sports Centre be ordered from D & R
Sports in Bowmanville at a price of $1,075. -I- 7% sales tax.
5. Snow Removal - Darlington Sports Centre
That Mr. Weston's account for $42. for removing snow at the Darlington Sports
Centre, be paid, but the problem of snow removal be left to the Public. Works
Department in the future.
6. Ministry of Labour - Safety of Arenas
That the questionnaires regarding Safety of Arenas from the Ministry of Labour
be forwarded to the. Director of Recreation to be circulated to the Arenas,
including the Darlington Sports Centre, to be filled in and returned to the Clerk.
7 Amendments to Dog Licensing and Live Stock and Poultry Protection Act
That copies of the amendments to the Dog Licensing and Live Stock and Poultry
Protection Act from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, be sent to the

8. Appointment to Town of Newcastle Museum Board
That the resignationof Mrs. Elsie Lunney from the Town of Newcastle MAseutfl Board
be accepted with regret and a letter of thanks be sent to her; Mr. A. W., Thompson`
be appointed to the Board for a three year period, 1975, 1976, and 1977..
