HomeMy WebLinkAbout1981-05-12 ReportMayor Rickard and Members of Council: - The following is a report of the meeting of the Public Works Committee held on May 12, 1981: 1. Jackman Road Bridge It was recommended to Council that the Ministry of Transporation and Communications be requested to extend the loan agreement in respect of the Jackman Road Bailey Bridge for a further period of two years. 2. Sidewalks - Baseline Road Industrial Area It was recommended to Council that the Director of Public Works personally advise Mr. Ronald Feinstein of the Town's policy relative to the construction of new sidewalks and upon receipt of an application for sidewalks (under Local Improvement) it then be determined if sidewalks can be constructed within the existing right -of way. 3. M.T.C. Funding Procedures Meeting It was recommended to Council that the Chairman of Public Works Committee and the Director of Public Works attend the meeting regarding Funding Procedures to be held at 1201 Wilson Avenue, Toronto, on Thursday, May 14, 1981. 4. Road Closure Lots 4 & 5 Concession 4 Clarke (Westheuser) It was recommended to Council that the Road Allowance between Lots 4 and 5, Concession 4, former Township of Clarke, as defined on Plan 1OR-1230, be closed from the 5th Concession southerly to the railway right-of-way (Parts 3, 6, 7 and 8 of Plan 1OR-1230) and further that the appropriate by-law be presented to Council. 5. Parking Caroline Street - Village of Newcastle It was recommended to Council that By-law 80-156, being a by-law to amend by-law 79-1, not be rescinded and the parking restrictions remain on Caroline Street, both sides, from Baldwin Street to Church Street in the Village of Newcastle. 6. Hope/Clarke Boundary Road It was reoemnended to Council that the Director's report of the Hope/Clarke Boundary Line reconstruction be received for information. 7. Road Allowance Lots 6 and 7, Concession 8, Darlington It was recommended to Council that whereas there were objections to the closure and conveyance of the road allowance in lots 6 and 7, Concession 8, former Township of Darlington, no further action be taken in this matter and Resolution #W-148-80 be upheld. Report # 2 - 2 8. Reconstruction Connecting Link - Village of Newcastle It was recommended to Council that upon the reappraisal of the Connecting Link in the Village of Newcastle meeting the requirements of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications in being recognized as 'deficient' the Town request Ministry approval for a Connecting Link Construction Project.
