THAT Report No. CS-40-92 be received 2. THAT the "fine paper recycling program" at the Municipal Administrative Centre be continued. 1.0 BACKGROUND: 1.1 On July 13, 1992 a Report to Council, WD-61-92, was approved with the direction that a "fine paper recycling program" for the Town be initiated at the Municipal Administrative Centre on a three month trial basis with staff reporting at that time. 2.0 PROGRESS REPORT: 2.1 The Community services Building Services provided a blue box in the lobby and appropriately displayed a sign indicating "fine paper recycling". 2.2 Fine paper is defined as all office paper including telephone message sheets, all writing paper, xerox paper, letterhead, adding machine tapes, computer print outs, file folders, NCR and business forms. 2.3 The maintenance staff have not experienced any problems having incorporated this program into their regular maintenance schedule, and are required to empty the blue box once every two weeks. Every employee has been furnished with a blue box .. /2 913 RECYCLED~PAPIER PAPER "t:II RECVCLE THIS IS PRINTED ON RECYCLED PAPER REPORT NO. CS-40-92 - 2 - NOVEMBER 16, 1992 for recyclable paper that is deposited to the designated area on a daily basis. 3.0 CONCLUSION: 3.1 As Report WD-61-92 concluded, "The Town is in a position to provide leadership in the stewardship of the environment". The fine paper recycling program is a good initiative for the municipality to promote and implement with minimal affect to the building operations. Respectfully submitted, e P.
