Mayor Rickard and Members of Council: --
The following recommendations to Council were made at a meeting of the Community
Services Committee on October 29, 1974, at 7 p.m.:
1. Newcastle Recreation Committee (Village)
Fred Hawes, Chairman
George Wind, Vice Chairman
Gary Woodbeck
Leo Kelly
Mrs. Karen Beam
Klaus Zulauf
Bruce Markle.
2. Resignation - Mrs. E. Northr.p
That the resignation of Mrs. E. Northrup as Treasurer of the Newcastle Recreation
Committee, be accepted with regret, and a letter be sent to her, thanking her
for her past services to that Committee.
3. Darlington Recreation Committee
That the following be appointed to the Darlington. Recreation Committee and that
the appointees be so notified:
Gary Lilley, R. R. #1, Hampton Mrs, R. Dreossi, R4, Oshawa
Mrs. H. Haagmans, Hampton Mrs. J. Summers, Taunton Rd, East
A. W. Thompson, R6 Bowmanville P. R. McCullough, R2, Bowmanville,
4. Tenders for addition to Pound
That the Chairman be authorized to invite quotations on the addition to the
Animal Pound, to be received by 12 noon, November 5, 1974.
5. Identification Badges for Animal Control Offccers
That identification badges be ordered for the Animal Control Officers -
20 - @. $2. each and 10 name tags @ .50C each.
6. Village of Newcastle Fire Hall
That an engineering Firm or architect be selected to prepare preliminary plans
for a new Fire Hall in the former Village of Newcastle.
7. Fire Hall - West Side Darlington Township
That the Community Services Committee, along with Fire Chief Hayman, initiate a
study for the establishment of a Fire Hall in the West side of the former
Township of Darlington.
8. Amendment to By-law 74-40 - Museums
That By-law 74-40 establishing a Board of Management to operate museums on behalf of
the Town, be amended to include the establishment of a management board for each of
the two Museums, Bowmanville and Clarke.
